For the 2026 season we are announcing a rise in our subscriptions and match fees.
Over the winter, club trustees carried out a review of the subs and match fees of peer group sports clubs in the local area and regionally. This included other sports such as hockey, rugby, football as well as cricket clubs.
The review found that Swardeston CC’s charges were significantly lower than those of our peer group.
The increases agreed by the trustees for the 2026 season are summarised in the attached word document. Despite the headroom, and the fact subs haven’t risen since 2022, the increases are modest as we also took into account the cost of living and team selection pressures.
With regards to the junior category for up to 15-years-old (attending junior training) this will now be £60 (last year £50). Over 15 years of age and in full-time education and playing in open age cricket the subscription will be £30 (last year £25).
Like all clubs, our cost base is rising and we need to fund investments in items such as the new heavy roller and roll-on net. We feel we have struck the right balance for now but will continue to look at charges yearly to ensure we are comfortable with rates.
We will also be continuing our coaching incentive structure where players can earn discounts to their subscriptions by helping to coach at our Swardeston CEYMS Youth Training evenings. More details on this to follow in due course.
