Welcome to Swardeston Cricket Club
Based just south of Norwich, Swardeston – one of East Anglia’s leading cricket clubs – can trace its history back over 150 years and now runs four Saturday sides, two Sunday teams and a thriving youth section with teams from Under-9 to Under-19. 2014 saw a women and girls section added.Swardeston’s 1st XI plays in the ECB Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League and has celebrated five consecutive title-winning seasons in from 2012 to 2016. The remaining three teams play in the Cecil Amey Norfolk Cricket Alliance.2016 saw Swardeston achieve glory on the national stage – winning the national NatWest Club T20 title; reaching the final of the Royal London National Club Championship; winning the Carter Cup for the sixth time; and winning the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League (EAPL) for the fifth season in a row.
Swardeston also won the Active Norfolk team of the year award, the All Out Cricket Magazine club of the year award and were also joint winners of the Norfolk Cricket Alliance (NCA) club of the year award.
Swardeston is one of a number of clubs in Norfolk to have achieved the ECB’s ClubMark accreditation.
Swardeston run weekly youth cricket sessions during the summer and offer high-quality coaching to all children that attend. As well as this, the club runs weekly net sessions for its adult members.
The club has a thriving social scene with annual cricket dinner, club dinner, barbeque and quiz night. The club also has its own bar that is open after every game.
