Based just south of Norwich, Swardeston – one of East Anglia’s leading cricket clubs – can trace its history back over 150 years and now runs four Saturday sides, two Sunday teams and a thriving youth section with teams at Under-17, Under-15, Under-13, Under-11 and Under-9 level.
Its 1st XI play in the East Anglian Premier League and the remaining three teams play in the Norfolk Alliance.
2009 saw Swardeston become the first club to win both the senior and junior Carter Cups in the same season, while 2010 saw Swardeston achieve glory on the national stage – winning the ECB Cockspur T20 competition under lights and the live Sky cameras at the Rose Bowl.
Swardeston is one of a number of clubs in Norfolk to have achieved the ECB’s ClubMark accreditation and to have been made a focus club by the Norfolk Cricket Board.
Swardeston also run weekly Kwik cricket sessions and offer high quality coaching to all children that attend. As well as this, the club runs weekly net sessions for it’s adult members.
The club has a thriving social scene with annual stag dinner, club dinner, barbeque and race night. The club also has it’s own bar that is open after every game.
