Further awards given at the 2022 annual Swardeston CC awards dinner at Eaton Golf Club were as follows.
Players of the year were also honoured, see separate report.
The trophy for the most outstanding performance of the year was jointly awarded to George Walker and Matthew Taylor for their fantastic batting partnership in the Cecil Amey Norfolk Cricket Alliance match at Downham Stow.
Chasing 229, Swardeston found themselves at 63-4, with a score prediction rating at the time reading 1% in favour of a Swardeston win. Matthew and George put together a 166-run partnership with George eventually run out going for the win on 92. Matthew finished unbeaten on 86.
Club President Peter Thomas said the season had brought many candidates for the award but he felt the typical Swardeston grit and flair displayed by George and Matthew was the outright winner for 2021.
Ben Chapman was the winner of the Neville Herathge Trophy for the outstanding youth player of the year.
Peter Thomas said that Ben had a good season in the 2nd XI but he had also managed and captained the Swardeston CEYMS Sharks Under-19 team to lift the Norfolk Vitality Club Under-19 Trophy for the third year running.
Ben hit 672 runs across the season with three fifties for the Under-19s. He top-scored with 92 for the 2nds in the league victory against Hethersett & Tas Valley. He also took 17 catches.
