We are delighted that Swardeston coach Lawrence De Coteau has been recognised at national level by the ECB in the annual Coach Awards, which were announced on Thursday 29 January.
Lawrence was named as Coach of The Year in the Norfolk Cricket Foundation Cricket Collective Volunteer Awards in September. The award is given to a coach who goes the extra mile and is a true coaching hero to their club, league, county or school.

Lawrence joined Cromer’s Nat Laws (Young Coach of the Year) and Sheringham’s Andy Boocock (Outstanding Services to Coaching) in being honoured at the annual ECB Coach Awards, which form part of the Cricket Collective Awards.
Swardeston Chair Stuart Bartram said: “Lawrence has coached the Swardeston CEYMS Under-11 squad and team for the past two years.
“He built a wonderful environment for the young players to thrive in. Lawrence introduced and fostered a willing ally in parent Dan Petchey to help with the team’s admin, leaving him to focus on the coaching and playing aspects.
“It is fantastic that Lawrence has chosen to give back to the game and the club in this special way and that he has been honoured not only in Norfolk but now nationally. We are truly thankful for his wonderful efforts.”
Lewis Denmark, NCF Cricket Development Director, said: “We thoroughly enjoy celebrating our outstanding coaches and volunteers on an annual basis and 2025 was no different. We are thrilled to hand out the 2025 awards to Nat, Lawrence and Andy for their outstanding contribution to the game over many years.
“It was not easy selecting a winner in each category as there are many deserving people who could have won in each category. We look forward to receiving more nominations during the 2026 awards process.”
