Swardeston Cricket Club welcomed Paul Allott to the 35th Annual Cricket Dinner held at Swardeston Common on Wednesday 27 September 2023, to raise money for the club’s youth development and coaching.
The evening, sponsored by Abode Construction, welcomed over 170 club members, corporate guests and cricket fans to enjoy a three-course meal supplied by Roger Lightfoot at Lightfoot Catering. PA system was kindly provided and manned by Production Bureau.
Attendees enjoyed entertaining, light-hearted stories from Paul Allott’s cricket career. Paul played for Lancashire and had an international career with England playing in 13 Test matches and 13 one-day internationals.
After retiring from the game, Paul joined Sky TV as a commentator and also became Director of Cricket at Lancashire.
The evening closed with an auction, prizes kindly donated by Richard Pearce of Barclays Private Bank Wealth and Investments, Gray-Nicolls, The Royal Norwich Golf Club, Porsche Centre Norwich and Swardeston Trustee Tony Bailey.
