Excited to publish details for our 35th annual cricket dinner in September.
Delighted to announce former Lancashire and England bowler and Sky TV commentator Paul Allott will be our guest speaker.
Very pleased also that Abode Construction return as the dinner sponsor for the second year.
Born in 1956 Paul played over 470 games for Lancashire and was part of the side that was successful in winning five trophies between 1984 and 1990, including the Refuge Assurance League in 1989.
Paul had an international career with England playing in 13 Test matches and 13 one-day internationals.
After retiring from the game he entered the world of the media, joining SKY TV as a commentator alongside other commentary team regulars David Lloyd, Ian Botham, David Gower and Nasser Hussain.
Paul left his job as a commentator for Sky Sports to become director of cricket at Lancashire for the 2018 season a position he held until the end of the 2021 season.
Dinner organiser Sarah Thomas said: “We are delighted to have secured Paul for this year’s cricket dinner and we very much welcome back Abode as the main dinner sponsor.”
“I hope many will be able to join us at what has become a marvellous attraction for the corporate hospitality sector and cricket lovers alike. The dinner is open to all, both males and females, and tables are for 10 but we will endeavour to accommodate any number people may require.”
Abode’s Managing Director Grant Keys said: “Swardeston is a club which does so much to promote the development of men’s, women’s and youth cricket in the local area and we at Abode are therefore are delighted to be once again sponsoring their annual dinner. It promises to be a great occasion and an opportunity to celebrate the club’s ongoing successes.”
