Delighted to report that our main club sponsors Leathes Prior will be holding their Summer Social this year at The Common.
The event will be a chance for Leathes Prior staff to get together and watch some cricket as we take on Cambridge in the Read Brothers East Anglian Premier League on Saturday 27 July.
And it includes some great news as Leathes Prior are extending the invitation to Swardeston members to join them following the day’s matches.
The event will take place in a marquee on The Common by the bowls green and will include:
- A hog roast supplied by Archers Butchers from 6pm onwards
- Van Vino running a cash bar (card machine also available)
- Evening entertainment
Leathes Prior Business Development and Marketing Manager Peter Lambert said: “This is a nice opportunity for Leathes Prior to come down and support Swardeston Cricket Club. In the evening, members of Swardeston are welcome to come and join us in the marquee where there will be drinks, a hog roast and a bit of evening entertainment.
“We will also be holding a small raffle with the proceeds going towards our charity of the year, Let’s Do It Anyway. We all are really looking forward to the day.”
Swardeston chairman Stuart Bartram said: “This is a wonderful new event on the calendar which if goes well is hoped will become an annual fixture in the diary. We have had a fantastic relationship with Leathes Prior since they became main club sponsors in 2016 and this gives people from both organisations a chance to enjoy some social time together.”
- NOTE: Carol’s Kitchen will not be open due to the sponsor’s event but the bar will be open to social club members.
