More than 285 guests were entertained by former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan at the 31st staging of Swardeston’s annual cricket dinner.
The dinner was also the first to be sponsored by Breakwater IT.
Breakwater’s Managing Director John Gostling said: “We were delighted with the way the evening went and thought Michael Vaughan was an excellent speaker.”
Vaughan captained England in 51 tests between 2003 and 2008, winning 26 (a national record) and losing 11; England won all 7 home tests of the 2004 summer under Vaughan, and the pinnacle of his captaincy career came with a 2-1 victory in the 2005 Ashes, England’s first Ashes victory since 1986/87.
Dinner organiser David Thomas said: “We were delighted that the event was so well supported. A big thank you to Breakwater IT as our new main sponsor but also a huge thanks to all the business and individuals who came along.”
