Our new girls’ manager Katie Treutler reports on the beginning of an exciting new development for the club.
The end of March heralded the beginning of a new phase in Swardeston Cricket Club’s long and successful history!
We now have a squad of girls keen to play cricket with the club. We have mixed ages and abilities and for this reason it was thought it a good idea to bring together their enthusiasm and talent by offering a pre-season training session.
Led by Level 2 Coach, Lewis Denmark, a softball session of skill and fun ended with a very competitive Kwik cricket game. It was a great success! New girls attended too and some players from last year brought along others from their schools to try out the sport for the first time.
We are pleased to have two of our youth section playing for Norfolk this season and wish Emily Grisewood and April Herathge the best of luck with their summer.
We are looking forward to a number of fixtures and confirmation of dates and times will be available very soon.
If you would like to bring along any sisters or friends interested to join our squad please join us on a Tuesday evening at the Common for youth training, 6.15 – 8 pm.
Any queries please don’t hesitate to contact Girls’ Manager, Katie Treutler on 07941 286154, email her or follow us on Twitter or Facebook for regular updates about the club.
