Gray and Taylor pick up outstanding performance and youth awards

Further awards give at the packed annual Swardeston CC awards dinner at The Parson Woodforde were as follows.

The trophy for the most outstanding performance of the year was awarded to Stephen Gray. Club captain Peter Thomas said: “My best performance of the year came in the last game of the season on the Common. For his 128 off 127 balls, chasing down a total of 250 ably supported by Lewis Denmark and Jason Reynolds, my outstanding performance of the season goes to Stephen Gray.”

Callum Taylor was the winner of the Neville Herathge Trophy for the outstanding youth player of the year. Club captain Peter Thomas said: ” We do have a special person, his progress last season was unbelievable, playing not only for the 1st team but also the full county side, becoming the youngest player to have ever played for Norfolk and having scored a hundred!  He has secured a bursary at Essex County Cricket Club and it gives me great pleasure to nominate the outstanding youth player of 2013 to Callum Taylor.”
