We are again holding our very successful stag dinner at the ground in Swardeston on Tuesday 20 September 2011, 7 for 7.45pm. The ticket price is £38.
England's most-capped Test player Alec Stewart - guest speaker at Swardeston's 25th anniversary stag dinner.
This year is our 25th dinner and to mark this special occasion we have secured the services of former England captain Alec Stewart OBE as our guest speaker. The former Surrey skipper is England’s most capped Test player of all time, making more than 8,600 runs in 133 matches over 13 years. He also took more than 260 catches as wicketkeeper. Alec also played 170 one day internationals, scoring over 4,600 runs.
Since finishing his playing days, Alec is a familiar figure with roles at Surrey CC and on the speaking circuit. He is also now a well-known broadcaster with BBC’s Test Match Special.
He will be supported by comedian Jed Stone.
