James Hooper’s century helped Swardeston Sharks march into the semi-finals of the Junior Carter Cup at the expense of Dereham Jaguars.
Openers Hooper and Ben Baldwin (70) put on 141, before Hooper reached his ton from 98 balls, including 16 fours and a six as the Sharks posted 268 for seven from 42 overs. Nic Cains (two for 27) and Bradley Raper (two for 39) were Dereham’s best performers.
Dereham were then all out for 126, Oliver Ebbage taking three for 39, while Josh Chatland and Oliver Kennard picked up two wickets each.
Semi-final draw (ties to be played Sunday, August 23): Swardeston Sharks v Downham/Stow Bombers, Lowestoft Lions v Horsford Knights.
