Swardeston opening bowler Michael Eccles took the plaudits as Norfolk beat Staffordshire to take the 2009 MCCA Trophy at the Riverside in Durham.
Eccles ripped the heart out of the Staffordshire top order on Wednesday evening taking three wickets as Staffs closed on 26 for 4, he then picked up another early on Thursday morning before returning to take his fifth wicket in his final over. Eccles return of 5 for 34 saw him take the Man of the Match award in his first MCCA Trophy final.
Norfolk won the match by 105 runs.
