Hilltops to host Norfolk Ladies


Ladies have high hopes for season

Norfolk Ladies are gearing up for their first match of the season next weekend as they are again competing in London & East Division Five of the County Championships.

The ladies’ team take on Hertfordshire at the Hilltops ground in Swardeston on Sunday, May 18 (11am) and with several new faces and some younger players moving up to the senior squad, hopes are high for a successful season.

If they finish top of their division, they will travel to Taunton for a promotion play-off in August against Division Five winners from another region.

Morris Holl has been installed as team manager and David Thomas will continue to coach the side.

Swardeston’s Kerry Holl and Catherine Peatfield will be captain and vice-captain respectively and Holl said: β€œIt is important that the squad finish as high as they can this season, as the ECB will be ranking the ladies’ teams and Norfolk need to be playing the highest standard of cricket possible to finally put the county on the ladies cricketing map.”
