Former Essex skipper Ronnie Irani has been confirmed as the speaker at this year’s stag dinner.
Swardeston celebrate their 21st dinner by again engaging a cricketer who has played Test cricket. Irani played three Tests but also made 31 ODI appearances.
Dinner organiser David Thomas said: “This year we have employed the services of Ronnie Irani who is regarded as one of the best up and coming speakers on the circuit. Unfortunately, Ronnie has had to retire this summer from first class cricket after a hugely successful and entertaining career with Lancashire, Essex and of course England.
“He can now be seen regularly on Sky where he has proven to be very popular and so should ensure that we continue to provide excellent after dinner speakers.
“Ronnie will be supported by comedian Jed Stone who returns to Swardeston by popular demand.”
The dinner takes place on Monday 1 October at 7pm with tickets costing £32.
