Former Swardeston overseas Mathew Sinclair has won a recall to the New Zealand Test team.
Sinclair played in the five-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the First Test just completed at Christchurch.
He scored 36 and 4 in his first Test for two years.
New Zealand coach John Bracewell said Sinclair had been recalled because of his consistent performances in first-class cricket. “In Sinclair’s case, it is a continuation of the runs he scored last season. In the end, it came down to a sheer weight of runs compared with the other possible candidates,” Bracewell told the New Zealand Press Association.
