Norfolk have called up Swardeston’s 16-year-old pace bowler Bud Bailey for their second pre-season warm-up match, against MCC Young Cricketers at Manor Park on Monday 1 May (11am).
The Northamptonshire Academy player, from Watton, who toured South Africa with England Under-16s in February, is included as one of four changes to the team that beat Essex II by six wickets at Bishop’s Stortford.
Bailey spent a week at the ECB National Cricket Centre at Loughborough in January after being awarded one of four Daily Telegraph Bunbury Scholarships at ESCA Bunbury Festival in July last year, and trained alongside England Academy players.
All-rounder Chris Borrett returns from rugby duty with North Walsham, Luke Newton is back behind the stumps and Ian Slegg joins the attack.
The quartet replace James Spelman, Alex Patmore, Michael Eccles and Martin Addison from the team that faced Essex II.
The match will be 50 overs per side.
