Swardeston Cricket Club have won a major new sponsorship deal.
The Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League club have agreed a three-year deal with Norwich In Car Entertainment (Nice) to become the club’s main sponsor.
Based on Dereham Road, Norwich, Nice specialise in car audio, tv, dvd, navigation and security and have taken over from law practice Rogers & Norton after their eight-year partnership with Swardeston.
Club chairman Mark Taylor said: “We are absolutely delighted that Nice have agreed to become our main sponsor. They have been loyal supporters of our annual cricket dinner for some years now and we are very pleased that they have decided to take their support up to the next level.”
Taylor added: “If we can enjoy as successful relationship with Nice as we had with Rogers & Norton then we will be thrilled.”
Nice was formed 11 years ago by partners Tim Pooley and Andrew Kilby. Six years ago they took over and refurbished the former Victory public house at 47 Dereham Road to establish a purpose-built showroom and workshop. Here they sell and install the latest state-of-the-art technology from phone kits to in-vehicle offices.
Tim Pooley said: “We are very happy to take over as main sponsor. We hope our backing can help Swardeston continue to develop its role as one of the leading clubs in East Anglia.”
One of the first developments the new sponsorship money from Nice will be used for is the launch of women’s cricket at Swardeston.
Mark Thomas, captain of the East Anglian Premier League side, will be running weekly coaching sessions with a view to some games being played later in the summer. Further details can be obtained by e-mailing email@example.com.
