Identical twins Matt and Ben Hogg have scooped this year’s Howes Percival
Youth Cricket playing award.
The Swardeston youngsters picked up the trophy at the annual Howes Percival
Norfolk Cricket Alliance presentation evening at Pinebanks.
Matt and Ben, who live at Gt Ellingham, were entered as a joint submission
by Swardeston’s director of coaching David Thomas who said he could not
split their achievements on the field this year.
Alliance judges agreed and awarded them £150 each from the £300 first prize.
The money plus salver were handed to the brothers, who were 16 last month, by Alan Kefford, managing partner of Howes Percival.
The Hoggs played in all three Swardeston Alliance teams this summer – in the the Andy Seeley Under-15 Trophy, Division Three and the Premier Division. Both ended the season with appearances in Swardeston’s East Anglian Premier League side. Both also played for Norfolk Under-15s with Matt also appearing for the Under-19s and making two appearances for Kent 2nd XI.
Runners-up in the playing awards, who each received £150 and a commemorative medallion were: Robert Marshall, of Kirkley; and David Mann, of Lowestoft.
