Women & Girls Cricket

Girls from age 5 upwards are welcome to take part in our Community training, which takes place at The Common 6.15pm-7.45pm on Tuesdays. This year it runs from Tuesday 17 April to Tuesday 24 July 2018. Wear comfy, warm sports kit, no equipment needed.

What is on offer at the Common is softball training for junior group age 5-8 years old and 9-14. Those girls who have hardball experience will get slotted into the age groups of the boys training.

On Monday nights at Hilltops (Swardeston CEYMS ground on B1113) we can offer hardball training to year 9 up to adult as women’s nets take place. This session will, in most part, be taken by a level 2 coach, Jason Reynolds assisted by Katie Treutler (Girls/Womens’ Manager). If Jason is not available, the session will be taken by a different level 2 or 3 coach.
This summer we are entering the Shell Women’s Outdoor league playing local clubs in a series of 20/20s. Look out on twitter and the website for updates on fixtures.

Please contact Katie at girlscricketsquad@gmail.com for more information about either evening.

Successes

Over the winter months our Women’s Indoor Swifts team, captained by Beth H, won the Norfolk Cricket Board Shell Women’s Indoor League, beating Old Buckenham in a great final, played out by a goup of talented young players from both teams.

This is the third year we, as a club, have entered a team and could not have imagined such success and additionally having the strength in depth to field two teams in the tournament. The Swardestons Swallows, captained by Lucy M and Martha M, reached the semi-final stage in the competition.

This summer the team is competing in the NCB 2018 Shell Outdoor League.

Young women/girls are representing Norfolk county age groups from Under 13s through to Under 17s as well as the full Norfolk women’s team. Players also regularly feature in the club’s Norfolk Cricket Alliance men’s fixtures.

All training costs £3 per session, paid weekly.

You can also follow the team on Twitter.
