Swardeston lifted the 2007 20-20 Trophy at Manor Park this evening by beating Norwich by 5 wickets. Having restricted Norwich, who had won the toss and elected to bat, to a total of 83, they then reached their victory target with 15 balls to spare.

Richard Sims starred with the ball taking 4 for 13, and there were two wickets apiece for Saphie Herathge and George Walker as Norwich were bowled out in less than 16 overs.

There was the traditional wobble for Swardeston as they fell from 20 without loss to 27 for 4 in just 21 balls, only for Jaden Hatwell to add 22 with Ian Tufts and 35 with Mark Thomas as they eased past Norwich’s total. Hatwell finished unbeaten on 27 to take the Man of the Match award to add to his trophy for hitting the most 6’s in the tournament.
