Swardeston’s Chris Read and Barney Goodrum were among the top performers in the Howes Percival Norfolk Cricket Alliance this summer and they were rewarded at this year’s presentation evening.
The league handed out four new trophies and £50 sports vouchers in a new player-of-the-month category.
Andrew Barnes, partner and head of commercial litigation at the Norwich office of Howes Percival, presented the trophies at the Pinebanks event attended by more than 170 guests.
Alliance chairman Stuart Bartram said: “We are delighted to recognise and reward the individual achievements of these players.”

July: Anthony Goodrum, Swardeston
Swardeston recorded three wins and one winning draw to set themselves up for the premier division title which they eventually won. At the heart of this was Barney Goodrum’s batting which saw him record 224 runs from four innings, remaining not out on three occasions with a high score of 84 not out and an average for July of 224.August: Chris Read, Swardeston
As Swardeston moved closer to the premier division title, all-rounder Chris Read stepped up to the plate to drive his team to the championship with an outstanding contribution. Chris’ bowling saw him take 17 wickets during the month at an average of 9.05 and with a best of 6-26.
