Swardeston put in a dominant display away to Frinton, winning by 7 wickets in the Anglian Vehicle Linings East Anglian Premier League.

Swardeston won the toss and elected to bowl first in warm conditions. Openers Adam Todd and Lewis Reeder bowled impressive opening spells, making scoring difficult for the hosts.

Todd took the first wicket, removing Comber (1), and subsequently removed Arshad (8) and Waller (2).

Tom Bailey then had Viljoen (12) out LBW before Saranga Rajaguru took the key wicket of Nico Boje for 46, caught by Jonah Wicks.

Wicks then produced a sharp piece of fielding to run out Edwards (2). After a great opening session, the players headed to lunch with Frinton 94/6.

Rajaguru continued his spell after lunch, and he ran through the Frinton tail in no time. Three of the wickets were clean bowled, and he also took a caught and bowled to finish with the impressive figures of 5 for 25 as Frinton finished on 113 all out.

Swardeston’s response got off to a disastrous start as they lost both Ben Chapman and Tim Ward without scoring with only four balls of the innings gone.

Alfie Cooper joined Richard Sims as the pair rebuilt the innings. Cooper (32) had taken the score to 67 before he became Mark Smith’s third victim (3 for 43).

Jonah Wicks and Sims took the attack to the home side’s bowling and finished the game in just 16.3 overs.

Wicks with 23 not out and Sims with a majestic 52 not out, hitting two consecutive sixes to win the game.
