We’re excited to welcome Tim Ward to Swardeston for the 2026 Anglian Vehicle Linings East Anglia Premier League season.
Fresh off a breakout Big Bash campaign in Australia with the Hobart Hurricanes, 28-year-old Tim lit up BBL15 with a stunning 90 in the victory against Sydney Thunder.
Tim has swiftly become one of the most talked-about batting prospects in Australia, displaying remarkable patience and technique as an opener for someone of his age.
The winner of the Bradman Young Player of the Year award for 2021, Tim registered his maiden first-class century for Tasmania against Western Australia in late 2021.
In the 2026 season, he sits among the top 10 batsmen in the Sheffield Shield run table with 583 to his name at an average of more than 44.
After moving to Tasmania from New South Wales at the start of the 2020-21 season on a rookie deal with the Tigers, Tim has been one of the most consistent performers for the state in the red-ball format since making his debut in 2021.
Hobart Hurricanes BBL|15 Head Coach Jeff Vaughan, who has worked closely with Ward over the past few seasons, said: “Tim has been continuing to improve as a cricketer in the past few seasons, and we’ve seen how dynamic his batting has become.
“We view him as someone with significant potential in the shorter format of the game. He can score quickly through a variety of different ways, provides a left-handed option in the top and middle order, and is a safe pair of hands in the field,” said Vaughan.
