After Swardeston’s top of the table showdown against Vauxhall Mallards was rained off last Saturday, they face another crucial clash, against Cambridge Granta, this weekend.
Granta have won five of their last six completed games to shoot up to third in the table. The reigning champions now stand just 28 points behind Swardeston as they make a late charge to defend their title.
Swardeston were comfortable winners of the reverse fixture in June, when Jaden Hatwell took four wickets and Peter Lambert hit 90.
In other games this Saturday, the 2nd XI visit Alliance Division 1 leaders Old Buckenham, the 3rd XI face a title decider against Great Melton, and the 4th XI visit Rocklands.
Sunday sees Swardeston host Sprowston in the Mid-Norfolk Sunday League Premier Division – another game which could decide where the title finishes come the end of the season.
