Swardeston crossed the first big hurdle in retaining their National 20/20 crown when they successfully retained the Norfolk 20/20 at Manor Park this evening.
Horsford won the toss but could only muster 109-8 from their 20 overs. George Walker led the bowling with an impressive 3 for 15 from his four overs but once again it was a good all round display from both bowlers and fielders that restricted the home side.
In reply Richards Sims was resolute in his undefeated 52 (44 balls, 5 4s, 1 6) and received good support from Peter Lambert (27* off 27 balls) as Swardeston eased home with 19 balls to spare.
Mark Thomas duly lifted the trophy for the fourth time in five seasons and received a cheque for £1,000.
