Man of the Match Richard Sims together with George Walker steered Swardeston home to their third victory in four years in Horsford’s 20/20 competition at Manor Park.

Set a modest target of 131 Swardeston had their customary wobble quickly slipping to 18-3, but Sima and Walker added an unbeaten 116 for the fourth wicket to see Swardeston home with over two overs to spare. Sim hit three sixes and three fours in his 46 ball 58, whilst Walker hit seven fours in his 41 ball 54 including thw inning boundary off Tom Collishaw.

Earlier Sims had starred with the ball as well taking 3-17 from his four overs, and was well backed up both by some good fielding and by the rest of the bowlers. Daniel Martins run out off Carl Rogers put Great Witchingham on the back foot and although there were good knocks from Shaun Arthurton (26), Collishaw (34) and Simon Chipperfield (33), their total never looked enough.

With this season Cockspur Cup Norfolk place at stake Swardeston now go forward to the EAPL Twenty20 final as well as picking up the winners cheque of £1,000.
