Alfie Cooper selected for MCC tour to Hong Kong and India

Congratulations to 1st XI skipper Alfie Cooper who has been selected for the first MCC Overseas Tour of the year.

The MCC squad, captained by Ireland men’s Test skipper Andy Balbirnie, this week headed to Hong Kong where the MCC will play in a cricket festival celebrating the 175th Anniversary of The Hong Kong Cricket Club.

The festival will see MCC play in a 50-over format triangular tournament vs The Hong Kong Cricket Club and Melbourne Cricket Club.

The squad will then fly to Mumbai where MCC will play matches against the Global Cricket School, Cricket Club of India & Bombay Gymkhana Club.

As is customary with MCC tours, there will be various coaching sessions during the trip, with the Club also using the opportunity to educate umpires and officials on the Laws.

Tour Manager for the trip is Head of Cricket at MCC, Fraser Stewart, and the umpire will be the former England seamer Angus Fraser.
