Swardeston is delighted to announce that we will be hosting our third game with the MCC.
Taking place on Wednesday 1 August with an 11.30am start, the MCC team will be captained by Swardeston 1st XI captain and MCC member Mark Thomas.
Thomas said: “We enjoyed the two games in 2014 and 2016 and are very much looking forward to this third fixture.”
Swardeston chairman Mark Taylor said: “The 2014 and 2016 fixtures were very enjoyable days and we hope the weather will be kind to us again this year. Spectators will be very welcome to come along and join us.”
MCC is the world’s most active cricket club, the owner of Lord’s Ground and the guardian of the Laws of the game. Founded in 1787, it has been recognised as the sole authority on the Laws of Cricket since its foundation.
Its teams play over 500 matches at home and abroad every year. The foundations of this programme are MCC’s fixtures against schools and clubs throughout the United Kingdom each summer. No fewer than 280 of these games are against schools, from both the public and independent sectors.
In addition, MCC faces over 150 clubs on a regular basis.
