Staging a semi-final of a national competition takes a lot of hard work from club members and it was no different for us on Sunday in the Royal London National Club Championship v Weybridge.
We formed a steering group – Team28 – to ensure the day was planned and went off smoothly.
So before a ball was bowled an enormous amount of work had already taken place.
Swardeston chairman Mark Taylor said: “I would like to thank everyone involved with the organisation of Sunday’s game, if I missed you on Sunday please accept the club’s wholehearted thanks for all the hard work! The money raised is very nice however just as importantly (well for me!) was the way along with the team we showcased the cricket club to the people who came to watch the match and others who followed the day from afar.
“The club is only as good as the people involved, and boy are we a lucky club.”
The day saw Swardeston raise £1,000 for club funds and we were indebted to those that supported our raffle with prizes, namely Norfolk Cricket Bat Company, Harper Wells, Adnams and many other individuals.
Here are a few pictures from behind the scenes on the day.
