Chairman Mark Taylor thanked all those who had come to the annual general meeting, held on 9 December 2015, and said that it had been another great season for the club, both on and off the field.
The Premier XI had won the East Anglian Premier League (EAPL) title for the fourth year in a row; the Under 19s had won the inaugural NatWest T20 Competition and the Under 15s had won the Norfolk Cricket Alliance (NCA) Andy Seeley Trophy.
The only disappointment was the quarter-final loss to Blackheath in the ECB National Competition, held on the same day as the Carter Cup Final at which we had to field a second-string side.
The Chairman thanked Lewis Denmark and Jason Reynolds for managing our summer youth coaching programme, which saw about 100 children involved every week, and thanked the other coaches and volunteers.
The Chairman reported that the club was in a good financial position due to sponsorship and the Stag Dinner. Thanks were due to Stuart Bartram and Mark Thomas for the new sponsorship deal with Leathes Prior and David Thomas for organising another successful stag dinner.
The Chairman also congratulated Callum Taylor on his 1st class debut for Essex County Cricket Club and his England Under 19 call-up.
Premier XI Captain Mark Thomas reported that the turning point of the 2015 season was Sunday 9 August, when we had the quarter-final match against Blackheath and the Carter Cup final against Norwich, losing both narrowly.
The Blackheath result knocked the stuffing out of the team and we stumbled over the line to win the EAPL title for the 4th consecutive year, said Mark. However, the EAPL title and another Horsford T20 title was, on reflection, another very good year, despite the team underperforming towards the latter stages of the season.
