Swardeston under 13 starlet Sam Grisewood will next week embark on a trip of a lifetime with the Norfolk under 13 squad to South Africa.
The tour, from 12th to 22nd February, includes 4 matches against Langa CC, Somerset College Prep, Laerskool Gymnasium and Winberg Junior. Months of hard work have gone into the funding and organisation of the tour which will also include trips to Langa Township, Newlands stadium, Stellenbosch, Robben Island and Table Mountain. Also on the trip, in his Norfolk CB capacity, is Committee member Kevin Denmark.
Sam is well known among youth circles as a truly enthusiastic cricketer who always gives 100% and is a great team player. He also impressed veterans in the 4th team last season when called upon thanks to his infectious attitude and skill.
Sam, who would like to play grade cricket in Australia when he is older, has been told he has been given the honour of facing the first ball of the tour. He has practised hard all winter for the trip and he said his game is in decent fettle. On the non cricket front, he is particularly looking forward to meeting new people and visiting the township.
So we at Swardeston wish you well Sam and look forward to hearing about your trip when you are back. Before you go, below are some pictures of you in actions for Swardeston and Norfolk.
