Swardeston is delighted to announce that it will be once again taking part in the ECB’s new national cricket programme aimed at five to eight year olds.
All Stars Cricket was a brand new initiative from the ECB, launched in 2017, aimed at providing children aged five to eight with a great first experience in cricket. The programme is delivered across England and Wales and Swardeston is one of over 2,000 fully accredited All Stars Cricket centres.
We had more than 60 children regularly attend our 2018 programme and we were thrilled to be named the NatWest Cricket OSCA Regional All Stars Cricket Centre of the Year for 2018.
All Stars is a fun and active way to develop your child’s skills, and through our eight-week programme they will learn lots – as well as make new friends – in a safe and inclusive environment.
The 2019 Swardeston programme will be lead by Level 3 coach Lewis Denmark and will be supported by Swardeston All Stars Activator Kevin Cooper and fellow club coaches.
Lewis said: “Swardeston CC welcomes all 5-8 year olds to take part in our All Stars Cricket 8-week programme that will take place this summer. All sessions will take place at our idyllic home (Swardeston Common) with all abilities welcomed.
“There will be a big emphasis on using volunteers or parents to help with the sessions. Coaches do not have to be qualified! So I would once again love to hear from potential volunteers and parents. They can email me on firstname.lastname@example.org.”
The programme is suitable for all children new to cricket and sport as the sessions are designed to teach the basic skills of the game. Every child will earn stars as the weeks progress that match the skills learned during the programme:
